There has been some interesting news out of Charleston regarding the shipping giant Maersk, which will be leaving the Port of Charleston when its contract expires at the end of 2010. Efforts to head off that withdrawal appear
to be faltering. Maersk's business comprises approximately 20% of the Port's traffic. What implications that will have for the Port and the proposed distribution centers, including Jafza, remain to be seen.
