how will the Economy and the stimulus
impact jafza santee?
There were a few articles published recently that addressed both of these issues:
- A T&D Editorial Opinion outlines the statistics relating to SC exports and the role the Inland Port would play in moving those goods to the Port of Charleston. (03/24/09)
- About $4.6 million in federal money is headed to Orangeburg County for a road project to serve the developing Global Logistics
Triangle, specifically for improvements to the interchange at Interstate 95 and U.S. Highway 301. (03/20/09)
- Jafza announced that it will now focus on the Santee site development, for the time being forgoing potential projects in Virginia, Ohio and Texas. The plan is now to build the first buildings on the site
in early 2010. (03/12/09)
- In an interesting article from Gulf News in the UAE, trucks are now banned from Emirates Road from 6am and 10pm. Cargo rail lines are under study to reduce movement of heavy trucks - a leading cause of
traffic congestion.
The new initiatives are part of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) plans for massive overhauling of Dubai's traffic movement in a bid to ease congestion and reduce fatal road accidents. (02/17/09)
